isophorone diamine (IPDA), chemical formula C10H20N2O2, is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, molecular weight 196.28. It has good chemical stability and thermal stability, and is an important raw material for high-performance polyamide, polyurethane and epoxy resin. The isophorone diamine has excellent reactivity and can react with a variety of functional groups to produce high performance polymers. In the coatings industry, IPDA is used to produce high-performance polyurethane coatings to improve the weather resistance and chemical resistance of coatings; in the plastics industry, it is the key raw material for manufacturing high-performance polyamides and polyurethane elastomers; in addition, isophorone Diamine is also used to synthesize epoxy resin curing agents to improve the strength and heat resistance of epoxy resins.
(1) Epoxy resin curing agent: isophorone diamine is mainly used as a curing agent for epoxy resins, especially for epoxy formulations requiring low color, low odor, high bending strength and excellent chemical resistance. It enables the epoxy resin to form stable chemical bonds during the curing process, thereby improving the mechanical properties and chemical resistance of epoxy resin products.
