The committee is headed by the Prime Minister and is responsible for studying and proposing to the government and the Prime Minister the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of national strategies, policies and solutions.

The Commission is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Project 06, the development of demographic data, identification and electronic authentication data applications, and administrative reform efforts.

It is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the government's action plan for the realization of Politburo Resolution 57-NQ/TW of December 22, 2024 on scientific and technological development, innovation and national digital transformation.
