By deepening energy strategic cooperation, Turkey and Pakistan have focused on promoting 12 key projects such as the TAPI pipeline, which is expected to drive Pakistan's annual economic output value to exceed US $4 billion and strengthen regional energy security ties.
Turkmenistan's ambassador to Pakistan, atadyan lovmov, and Pakistan's new federal oil minister, Ali pervaz Malik, held a high-level dialogue on March 19. The two sides reached a strategic consensus on deepening bilateral relations and energy cooperation. The meeting coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Pakistan. The two countries reiterated that they will strengthen energy interconnection through flagship projects such as the TAPI natural gas pipeline to jointly address regional energy security challenges.
AmbassadorLovmov first congratulated Malik on his new post and spoke highly of Pakistan's progress in the development of oil and gas resources, the layout of renewable energy and the upgrading of energy infrastructure. He pointed out that Turkmenistan, as the world's fourth largest natural gas resource country, is willing to deepen the "resource country-consumer country" direct docking model with Pakistan, focusing on promoting the construction of cross-border energy corridors and the transfer of clean energy technology.
Minister Malik responded that Pakistan has incorporated the energy diversification strategy into the national development agenda and plans to attract Turkmenistan enterprises to participate in the development of oil and gas fields, the construction of LNG receiving stations and the upgrading of power transmission and distribution networks through measures such as preferential policies and investment facilitation. He particularly emphasized that the strategic alignment between the two countries in areas such as energy security and regional connectivity provides a realistic path for building a "Central Asia-West Asia Energy Golden Belt.
The two sides also exchanged views on the regional cooperation mechanism under the framework of the "International Year of Peace and Confidence" initiated by Turkmenistan, and agreed to establish an energy working group and a regular consultation mechanism, focusing on promoting the construction of the Pakistan section of the TAPI pipeline and the joint development of oil and gas resources in the Caspian Sea. Priority projects. Economic analysis shows that these partnerships could generate more than $4 billion a year in economic growth and create more than 50000 high-skilled jobs for Pakistan.
