Newly completed India's largest factory cost Rs 3.5 billion crore to build with annual capacity of 30000 tonnes

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated India's largest chlorotoluene factory, established by Gujarat Alkali & Chemicals Limited (GACL) in Dahei, via the network on the day of its establishment.

The newly completed plant, with an investment of Rs 3.5 billion million and an annual production capacity of 30000 tons, is expected to create about 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. In addition, GACL's new chlorotoluene plant will generate foreign exchange earnings of about Rs 1.3 billion crore through chemical exports to Europe, the United States and South Asia. The new plant will use chlorine to produce value-added chlorine-based products such as benzyl chloride, benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde. "The company has started the production of chlorotoluene plant in Daheji. Bhupendrabhai Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, has actually inaugurated a chlorotoluene plant in Dakhj. At current market prices, the expected annual income of the plant at full capacity is about Rs 4 billion crore. Over the past five decades, GACL has expanded its production capacity and introduced new products. GACL has a production capacity of more than 800000 metric tons of caustic soda per year and is the only manufacturer of sodium chlorate and hydrazine hydrate in India. In the presence of Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Chief Minister Adviser SS Rathore, Chief Minister Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das, GIDC Managing Director Praveena DK, and senior GACL and regional administration officials, Patel inaugurated GACL's new plant in Dahei online.
