During a meeting with visiting Belgian King Philippe in Hanoi on April 1, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Thanh suggested that Belgium speed up the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and urged the European Commission to remove the yellow card warning on Vietnamese seafood exports. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that the two countries strengthen cooperation in areas where Belgium has advantages and Vietnam has needs, especially in the fields of high technology, circular economy, strategic infrastructure and human resources training. King Philippe stressed that Belgium is willing to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in education, health, port development, renewable energy, science and technology innovation and other fields. He also stressed Belgium's support for enterprises from both sides to strengthen investment and trade activities in their respective countries.
