Titan Group raises share of phenol and acetone production in Russia to 29%

Titan Group's Omsky Kauchuk plant boosted phenol & acetone production by 33% & 36% in H1, ranking 2nd in Russia with 29% market share, backed by gov't support.

The Titan Group's Omsky Kauchuk plant achieved a 36% increase in acetone production and a 33% increase in phenol production in the first half of this year. This significant increase made the plant rank second in the production of phenol and acetone in Russia. Its market share reached 29%, an increase of 6 percentage points and 7 percentage points respectively.

 

Since 2020, the Titan Group of Companies has launched a facility modernization project at the Omsky Kauchuk plant and has successfully put into operation phenol and acetone production lines. After modernization, the annual production capacity of phenol has increased to 90,000 tons and that of acetone to 56,000 tons. This move not only significantly increased the plant's production capacity, but also enabled Titan Group to completely replace imported products in the phenol market and compete with leading global manufacturers.

 

Ivanilov. Sergey, General Manager of the Omsky Kauchuk Plant, said: "The technical renovation of the phenol and acetone production line is an important part of the comprehensive project for the modernization of the Titan Group's Omsk petrochemical plant. The start of modern production is a milestone for our factory, which enables us to achieve import substitution in the field of phenol and to compete with international giants. In addition, we will start to produce isopropanol from our own acetone in 2021, providing Russian companies with high-quality raw materials."

 

It is worth noting that modern production not only improves production and quality, but also significantly reduces the impact on the environment. Ivanilov Sergey added: "Our modern production is more environmentally friendly and its negative impact on the environment has been reduced several times. This is a reflection of our social responsibility while pursuing economic benefits."

 

The technical transformation project of phenol and acetone production Kauchuk by Omsky is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, which not only reflects the government's attention to the modernization and upgrading of the chemical industry, but also provides a strong policy guarantee for the future development of Titan Group.
