Fujian Zhongsha Gu Lei project ushered in the key review node, promote the construction of world-class ethylene plant

Recently, the key review meeting of Fujian Zhongsha Gulei Project was successfully held in Tianchen Building. The meeting focused on the review of 90% 3D models of PC & BPA joint devices. The design team and experts from the owner team, multiple patent dealers, complete set suppliers, and Tianchen Company gathered together to participate in this important link.

The importance of this review, which marks the end of the detailed design phase of the project, is self-evident. The review covers all aspects of the installation, from equipment, piping and instrumentation, to electrical and telecommunications settings, structural building collision detection, to waterway fire coverage, operation and maintenance space access, and preparation for commissioning, ensuring that all design elements are complete and accurate. In order to improve the efficiency of the review, the meeting set up seven sub-venues to simultaneously promote the review work.

Under the comprehensive explanation of Tianchen Company, the participants had an in-depth understanding of the current design progress and content. With their respective professional perspectives, combined with P & ID and production practice experience, the owner team and the patent dealer team conducted a detailed review of the model and put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions. Through active communication and collaboration, the wisdom of all parties was fully integrated and a number of design optimization schemes were jointly discussed.

The smooth progress of the review meeting not only completed an important milestone for the project, but also laid a solid foundation for the release of subsequent professional finished documents. With the successful conclusion of the review, the focus of the project will gradually shift to the construction site to make full preparations for the follow-up work. The project team of Tianchen Company will continue to go all out to ensure the smooth progress of the project and hand in a satisfactory answer for the owner.

It is worth mentioning that the Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project is the largest Sino-foreign joint venture project with one-time investment in Fujian Province so far. The project is jointly invested by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group and Zhangzhou Jiulongjiang Group, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan (about 6.4 billion US dollars). The project will be fully started on February 19, 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.

As the core part of the project, the production scale of the ethylene plant will reach the world-class level, with an annual output expected to reach 1.5 million tons and a maximum capacity of even 1.8 million tons. Ethylene downstream products are also rich and diverse, including ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol, HDPE, mLLDPE/HDPE and hexene-1. In addition, the project will also build production lines for propylene and downstream products, such as polypropylene, phenol acetone, bisphenol A and polycarbonate. In order to improve the industrial chain, the project also supports the construction of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, butadiene extraction, butene-1 unit and aromatics extraction facilities.

With the steady progress of various work, the Zhongsha Gulei project in Fujian is moving towards the set goal. In the future, the project will become an important force in the petrochemical industry in Fujian Province and even the whole country, contributing to the promotion of local economic development and industry upgrading.
