According to the latest data released by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEİAŞI), wind energy accounted for 10.4 percent of power generation and solar energy accounted for 7.3 percent of power generation as of the end of March.

While the share of renewables in total installed capacity has increased in line with projections, the rise of wind and solar continues. Assessing this, Arkın Akbay, CEO of Eksim Energy, said: "As of March 2025, Turkey's installed capacity has reached 117,885 MW, of which wind power accounts for 11.2 percent and solar power for 17.8 percent. As renewable energy production increases, we are witnessing a clean energy transition and reducing our dependence on imported electricity. With the use of energy storage power stations, the demand for imported fossil energy will decline at a faster rate."

turkey's energy sector is taking solid steps towards sustainable growth and green transformation. The increase in the proportion of renewable energy resources in the March data released by TEİAŞI has also attracted people's attention. Among them, wind power generation accounted for 10.4 percent, solar power generation accounted for 7.3 percent.

Alkin Akbai, CEO of Eksim Energy, assessed this. He said: "The increase in the proportion of renewable energy in total power generation has reduced our external dependence on energy. At the same time, it also provides first-level support for social and environmental sustainable development. As of the end of March, Turkey's installed capacity has reached 117885 megawatts, of which wind power accounts for 11.2 percent and solar power for 17.8 percent, which shows that we are rapidly improving the average energy cost. From this perspective, wind power and solar power plants are the most important forces to alleviate the current shortage of energy resources."
