Prime Minister asks to address concerns of US businesses

On April 10, when the Prime Minister of the Vietnamese government, Fan Mingzheng, presided over a meeting of executive members of the government and various ministries, industries and local leaders, he asked all relevant ministries, agencies and localities to effectively solve the issues of concern to American companies, especially related to the origin of products and non-tariff Barriers and intellectual property laws and regulations.

They were also instructed to consider increasing purchases of U.S. products that Vietnam needs, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and aircraft.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc noted that the United States has agreed to launch negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement with Vietnam.

He directed the immediate formation of a negotiating team led by the Minister of Industry and Trade to negotiate with the United States on a balanced, sustainable and mutually beneficial trade agreement, and emphasized the need to closely monitor developments and propose timely, flexible, and effective adaptive solutions.
he also said the talks must also incorporate Vietnam's global trade relations, including the 17 free trade agreements it has signed. He also said that this is also an opportunity for Vietnam to adjust its economic structure, achieve rapid and sustainable growth, reorganize enterprises, and diversify products, markets and supply chains.
